Research the Company
Interviewing for a human resource job is no different than any other job interview; you need to know as much as possible about the company you’re interviewing for. This is especially true for human resources because you are going to have significant role in the company and will need to know as much as possible. Find out the company’s history, what they do, how long they have been in business, how many employees they have, and some of their policies if you’re able to get this information Come up with a couple questions to ask the interviewer at the end when the inevitable question “Do you have any questions?” comes up.
Prepare Ahead of Time
Aside from researching the company, there are also other ways to prepare for your interview. For example, be sure you know how to get to the company and try driving there at least once before your interview. This ensures you won’t get lost on the way or arrive to your interview late. Come up with a list of questions to ask the interviewer as well as questions you think he or she will ask you. This lets you come up with well-formed answers so you can avoid mumbling or drawing a blank during the interview. Interviewing for a job is stressful and often intimidating, so the better prepared you are, the smoother the interview process will go.
