This position is ideal for someone who wants to work within the medical industry and positively impact people on a daily basis. Although the schedule for a doctor can be very demanding, it can also be a very rewarding experience. This is a position where you would be most comfortable if you were not squeamish and if you have an outgoing personality since you will often have to deal with patients on a regular basis. There are many different types of doctors, so ultimately, you may find that you have to specialize in an area if you want to work with children, the elderly, or focus your work towards certain types of conditions and diseases. Doctors examine and treat their client base to ensure that they have provided disease prevention, proper injury care, diagnosis, treatments, and options for recovery. They are responsible for prescribing and administering vaccinations and medications. They are also able to provide advice about personal health and hygiene. They request tests, follow up visits, and may refer patients to specialists. This position requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school. The individual must be licensed in order to practice. They may also need two to four years of experience before they can practice professionally. Some doctors report to medical directors.
